The new year is set to bring many exciting new developments to the tech industry. As a business that relies on technology to function smoothly or as individuals who use technology in our daily lives, it’s essential to stay up-to-date and stay ahead on where the digital world is trending in various industries. Each year, we put together a list of the most noteworthy technology trends for the upcoming year and the impact that each technology trend may have. Here is a list of some of the most exciting tech trends to watch out for in 2023!

Big Video Game Names Will Give the Gaming Industry a Boost

In 2022, the video game industry took a step back as big companies like Nintendo and Microsoft battled to measure up to their pandemic-era sales. On top of that, digital ad sales for mobile games slowed, and more than 100 games were delayed until 2023. Thankfully, the gaming industry should start to see new growth in the new year as new game titles are released and consoles become more readily available. The new year will also bring with it some highly anticipated games such as Nintendo’s sequel to “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, and “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.”

Apple Will Resume Its Focus on Health and Safety

The Apple Watch has been shown to save users’ lives (an individual stated that his Apple Watch detected a heart condition just in time to get it treated), and Apple is continuing its focus on health and safety with emerging technologies. New iPhone features include Emergency SOS, which allows users to send emergency messages via satellite if they are lost in remote areas. The company’s new high-end Apple Watch Ultra also has advanced women’s health capabilities, including generating family planning data.

Apple Will Release its Mixed Reality Headset and Meta Will Continue AR Efforts

Apple is expected to launch its first mixed-reality headset in 2023. This headset will feature a suite of cameras and a high-res display. It will also contain a high-powered Apple M2 chip, meaning that the product may outperform competitors like Meta’s Quest 2.

Meta will also continue putting billions into its alternate reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) efforts to create a virtual world with real time feedback. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is dedicated to creating a go-to metaverse company.

Electric Vehicles Will Grow in Popularity

Electric vehicle (EV) sales hit a record high in mid-2022, as they become progressively more popular. Tesla has played a major role in the increasing popularity, as have other offerings from Chevrolet, Kia, and Ford. It will be interesting to see this trend of EV popularity continue as the year progresses.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Will Become Mainstream

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming one of the most anticipated and valuable asset to a variety of different business models. It’s likely that these new technologies will transform many different industries by meeting business needs that were previously not possible – or at least very costly. It’s likely that artificial intelligence will be enabling organizations to grow and change their workforce as well as the way they produce, offer, and manage services and products.

Better Protections Against Data Breaches

One of the most profound tech trends in 2023 will be the continued shift toward better protections for technologies reliant on data and logins. Two-factor authorization will likely start to become the norm for entities where it was previously optional, offering users better protection against hacking and stolen data.
